Meet the Board
Bloom Seed Library is a nonprofit corporation organized under the laws of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. The organization’s mission is to promote food security, biodiversity, and community resilience through seed sharing, education, and outreach. We aim to empower individuals and communities to grow their own food, preserve heirloom varieties, and reconnect with ecological stewardship. We provide accessible tools to support gardeners, educators, and seed stewards. We foster inclusive partnerships with libraries, schools, nonprofits, and local leaders to expand seed literacy and sustainability. We serve as a hub for innovation, collaboration, and compassionate service in the realm of ecological justice and digital empowerment. We believe our board reflects that mission. If you have interest in joining our board or any committees, please reach out to us via the Contact Us Page.

Dave has worked in Brand Protection and Project Management for over 20 years. He found an appreciation of gardening from his Step-Mother when he was a child. Dave has been on the board of an animal rescue and has volunteered for non-profits throughout his life, finally bringing the breadth of his experience to the creation and management of the Bloom Seed Library.

Dave is a local internet marketer who has been a resident of Bloomsburg for over a decade. His last attempt at growing potatoes was not terribly impressive. You’ll see him about town try to get on the local cafes or library’s WiFi… or at Arts in Bloom or BTE shows.

Carrie is a speech-language pathologist who's been in the field for over 25 years, and who is at her best when working with humans of all ages with complex communication needs. She has specialized training and extensive experience facilitating creative engagement experiences for people living with dementia and other neurological conditions, and seeks to help people of all abilities find meaningful places in their communities. Carrie loves to cook with herbs from her backyard, learn about native plants, tie yarn around wildflower bunches, and start projects before she is ready.

Hobbit-like in nature, homemaking led Carlyn to herbalism, foraging and agriculture. Her background in archaeology and mycology fuels deeper sustainability goals for our modern communities including native species restoration, community resilience and food security. Additionally, expect spontaneous seasonal local cuisine inspiration and sharing recent wildlife sightings.

Gregg is president of Ardella Research, Inc., a corporate research and editorial services company. In a previous life, he was an award-winning investigative journalist with deep experience covering Corporate America, labor, the economy, Wall Street, white-collar crime, financial industry regulation, and related government policy. He has written for various newspapers (remember them?), magazines, and online platforms in the US and around the world.

Aiden is a student at Commonwealth University and has focused his time not only on studies, but student government, audio club, and Arts in Bloom. His penchant for learning and growth also is seen in his community volunteerism with Eos Therapeutic Riding Center. As the youngest board member of the seed library, he brings valuable skills, insights, and humanistic passions to our organization in order to help us understand and serve the younger community.
